Lovetone is a digital guestbook for weddings and events. Guests can leave audio and video messages, photos and uploads for the couple or organiser.

2. What data we collect

Guestbook messages: guest name (optional), audio recording, video recording or photo, time of recording. This data is solely for the event owner.

Account data: name, email address, language preference and encrypted password.

Event data: name, type and date of the event.

Payments: processed by Stripe. We do not store payment details. See Stripe's privacy policy.

  • Creating and managing your account and events
  • Receiving, storing and playing guestbook messages
  • Processing payments
  • Providing customer support
  • Sending service emails (no marketing without consent)

  • Performance of contract — to deliver our services

5. Where we store your data

All your data is stored on servers within the European Union (Germany) and is protected under the GDPR. Payment data is processed by Stripe, Inc., certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

6. How long we retain your data

  • Account data: As long as your account is active
  • Guestbook messages: Until 1 year after the event date — automatically deleted afterwards
  • Invoice data: 7 years (legal retention requirement)

7. Sharing with third parties

We only share your data with the following parties, strictly as necessary:

  • Hetzner Online GmbH — server hosting (Germany, EU)
  • Stripe, Inc. — payment processing

We never sell your data. Recordings are not used for AI training or any other purpose.
